Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsünde hazırlanmış olan bu Yüksek Lisans Tezinde, Thomas Hobbes'un Devlet ve Siyaset Anlayışı ele alınmıştır. Thomas Hobbes, 1588-1679 yılları arasında yaşamış ve daha çok siyaset felsefesi alanındaki görüşleriyle öne çıkmış olan İngiliz filozoftur. Hobbes'un siyaset felsefesine ilişkin görüşleri modern devlet anlayışının oluşumunda etkili olmuştur. Çünkü o, modern devletin legal ve kurumsallaşmış bir çerçevesini çizmiştir. Hobbes siyaset felsefesine bilimsel bir yöntem kazandırılabileceğini iddia eder. Bu çalışmanın ele aldığı temel meselelerden biri günümüzde de öneminden bir şey kaybetmeyen, meşru otoriteyi mümkün kılan şeyin ne olduğu sorusunu bir 17 yüzyıl düşünü olarak Hobbes'un bakışı ile cevabını araştırmak oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda düşünürün siyaset felsefesinin özgürlük, hak, doğa durumu, sivil toplum gibi temel kavramları ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Thomas Hobbes'un ontolojik epistemolojik ve etik temeller üzerinden siyaset felsefesini, nasıl inşa ettiğini incelemektir. In this master dissertation this was prepared in the Institute of Social Science of Suleyman Demirel University, Thomas Hobbes's understanding of government and politics are discussed. Thomas Hobbes, who lived between the years 1588-1679, was a British philosopher and has come forward with his ideas in the field of political philosophy. Hobbes's political philosophy was influential in the formation of the modern state understanding. He drew the legal and institutional framework of the modern state. Hobbes claimed that he would provide a scientific method to political philosophy. One of the main issues tackled by this study is to investigate the response of the question that has not lost its importance today, what makes legitimate authority possible, from the viewpoint of Thomas Hobbes as a 17th century philosopher. In this regard, the basic concepts of the philosopher's political philosophy such as freedom, rights, state of nature, civil society have been discussed. The purpose of this study is to examine how Thomas Hobbes built his political philosophy on ontological, epistemological and ethical basis.
