Bu tez üç bölümden, giriş ve sonuçlardan oluşturmaktadır. Giriş Kısımında sonuçlar, çalışmanın amacı, prosedürler ve çalışmanın önemi kapsar. Birinci bölümünde cümlenin teorik arka plan; temel kalıpları ve zorunlu üye olarak tamamlayıcı ele alınmıştır. Dil complementizers fikri de bu bölümün sorunlardan biridir. İkinci Bölümünde iki fiil cümleleri içinde "boşluk doldurma" olarak tamamlayıcıları işlevini göstermektedir. Bu bölümde ayrıca doğrudan nesne ve doğrudan nesne tamamlayıcı İngilizce öğrenenler için benzer ancak sorunlu birbirinden ayırtmıştır. Daha sonra kontrol tamamlayıcı ve fiillerin bazı sınıfları tarafından nasıl örneği da burada ele alınmıştır. Bölüm üç bağlamsal ortamlarda değişen cümleler arasındaki farklıları iletişimde tamamlayıcı rolünü ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Son olarak, bir tamamlayıcı tema ve Rheme açısından tanımlanır; tamamlayıcı konu üzerine odaklanan bir araç olarak ve nasıl kullanılabileceğini de bu bölümde ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada elde edilen bulguları sonuç Kısımında özetlemiştir.

This thesis consists of three chapters plus an introduction and a conclusion. The introduction presents the aims and goals, methodology and research techniques, the review of literature, and the significance and scope of the study. Chapter one deals with the theoretical background of sentence; its basic patterns and complement as an obligatory member. The notion of complementizers in language is also one of the concerns of this chapter. Chapter two sees complementation's function as "gap filling" information within verb phrase. This chapter also distinguishes between the direct object and the direct object complements which are similar in form but problematic for learners of English. Finally, complement control and how it is instantiated by certain classes of verbs are also dealt with here. Chapter three aims to explore the role of complement in communication in different types of sentences in varying contextual environments. Finally, complement is identified in terms of Theme and Rheme; how a complement can be used as a means of focusing on the topic is also considered in this chapter. Outlining the findings is a direct "mission" of the conclusion.
