Kadın istihdamı yüzyıllardır süregelen bir sorun olmuştur. Kadınların istihdam edilmesinin önündeki engeller zamanla aşılmaya çalışılsa da, istihdam edildikten sonra da kadının toplumsal ve biyolojik konumu nedeniyle sorunlar devam etmektedir. Bu sorunlar kadınları ve işverenleri kayıt dışı çalışmaya itebilmektedir. Kayıt dışı istihdam çalışanların sosyal güvenlik sisteminin vermiş olduğu hizmetlerden yararlanmasını engellemekte ve ülke ekonomisi için de mali kayıplara sebep olmaktadır. Bu nedenle kayıt dışı istihdam ile mücadele önemle üzerinde durulması gereken bir sorundur. Bu çalışma İskenderun 'da ikamet eden kadınların sosyal güvenlik sistemine ilişkin farkındalık düzeylerini ve kayıt dışı çalışma nedenlerini araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda kadınların demografik özellikleri ile sosyal güvenlik sistemi farkındalık düzeyleri ve kayıt dışı çalışma nedenleri arasında ilişkiye rastlanmıştır. Female employment has been a problem for hundreds of years even if the obstacles that lead to female employment have been tried to overcome over the time, the problems continue because of the female's biological and social status even after the female has been employed .These problems trigger the women and employers to work unregistered. The unregistered employment prevents the workers to utilize the services that social security system have given and causes financial loss for the country's economy. Therefore, the struggle to unregistered employment is a vital trouble that has to be emphasized. This study has been carried out to search the awareness level of the women who reside in İskenderun of İskenderun province and the causes of unregistered. There may be a relation between the women's demographic features and the awareness levels of social security system and the causes of unregistered working at the end of this study.
