Sanat tarihi çalışmalarında silahlar, süsleme özellikleri bakımından bir dönemin tarihine ve estetik anlayışına yönelik iyi bilgiler sunabiliyor olmalarına rağmen, seramik, cam gibi diğer küçük eserlere göre daha az konu edinilmektedir. Bu bağlamda "Bursa Kent Müzesi Çengiç Beyleri'ne Ait Silah Koleksiyonu" başlıklı çalışma ile Osmanlı dönemi silahlarının Sanat Tarihi disiplini içerisinde değerlendirilmesi ve alandaki boşlukların giderilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bursa Kent Müzesi'nde sergilenen Osmanlı dönemine ait 37 adet eser incelenmiştir. İncelenen eserler iki grup halindedir; 14 tabanca, 5 tüfek, 6 kılıç, 3 adet yatağan ve 1 adet kama silahlar grubunu oluştururken, 2 barutluk, 3 muhafaza ve 1 adet kolçak ise savaş gereçleri kısmını oluşturmaktadır. Tez kapsamındaki eserlerin tamamının 18. ve 19. yüzyıllara ait olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Eserlerin yarıya yakın kısmının Avrupa diğer yarısının ise Osmanlı menşeili olduğu süsleme özellikleri ve üzerlerindeki kitabelerden anlaşılmaktadır. In art history, weapons are less subject than other handcraft objects like ceramics and glass, although they can provide good information about the history and aesthetic sense of a period in terms of their decorative features. In this context, it was aimed to evaluate the Ottoman era weapons in the discipline of Art History with the title entitled "Bursa City Museum Çengiç beyler's weapon collection" and to eliminate the gaps in the area. 37 pieces belonging to the Ottoman period exhibited at Bursa City Museum were examined. The materials studied are in two groups; 14 pistols, 5 rifles, 6 swords, 3 yatağans and 1 wedge arms group, while 2 barutluks, 3 protector box and 1 vambrace the part of the war equipment. It is understood that all of the works under the thesis belong to the 18th and 19th centuries. It is understood from the ornamentation features and close references that half of the works are from Europe and the other half are from Ottoman origin.
