Sanat tarihi aynı zamanda bir esinlenme tarihi olarak kabul edilirse, birçok ressam arasında yaşanan eğitici bir unsur olarak böyle bir etkileşimle karşılaşırız. Bir resmin doğmasında, şekillenip gelişmesinde, daha yetkin bir düzeye erişmesinde başka bir resmin önemli bir payı olduğu yadsınamaz bir gerçekliktir. Bu bakış açısıyla, esinlenmenin, sanatın doğasına içkin olduğu gerçeğine biraz daha yaklaşırız. Bazı empresyonist ressamlar da Japon estamplarını kendi yaratılarının bir çıkışı olarak almakta bir sakınca görmemektedirler; yapıtlarında ötekine ait olanı bir dönüşüm işlemiyle genişleterek, yoğunlaştırarak esinlenme işlemine sıklıkla başvurmaktadırlar. Dönemin heyecan verici ressamları gibi Vincent van Gogh da büyüleyici Japon estamplarının etkisinde kalmıştı. Bu çalışmada resimlerarasılık yöntemi ile ressam ve Japon baskıları arasındaki bu ilişkinin ele alınması amaçlanmaktadır. Considering that the history of fine arts is the history of inspiration at the same time, we see such an interaction has an educational role among many artists. It is an undeniable fact that a print work has probably an important contribution to another work emerging, taking shape and improving and reaching a more efficient level. From that point of view, we become familiar with the fact that inspiration is in the nature of art. Some impressionist artists see no harm in using Japanese gravures as the starting point for creating their own works. They frequently make use of inspiration by expanding and intensifying what belongs to another artist via transformation. As one of the most exciting painters of the day, much under the influence of Japan, Vincent van Gogh was drawn to the fascinate of Japanese art. In this research, it is purposed to reveal the influence between the artist and the Japanese prints with the method of the interpicturality.
