Kültürel mirasın tarihsel süreç içerisinde oluşumu ve kentlerin görsel özelliklerine nasıl etki ettikleri gibi soruların cevaplarını arayıp belgelemek için birçok bilimsel yöntemden faydalanılmaktadır. Tarih yazıcılığı ve sosyolojinin belirli kavramları, fikirleri ortaya sunarken kullanacağı yöntemlerden birisi olan en somut materyallerde fotoğraflardır. Görüntüler üretilmiş oldukları dönemin özelliklerini bize yansıtmasının yanında verdiği mesajlar bakımından metinsel ifadeler kadar etkileyici olmaktadır. Fotoğrafın belgeci yanı da, fotoğrafın icat edildiği dönemden, günümüze kadar en önemli işlevi olmuştur. İster mimari fotoğraflar olsun, portre fotoğrafları olsun ya da savaş fotoğrafları olsun çekildiği andan sonra gelecek nesillere belirli konular hakkında bilgiler sunar. Günlük yaşamımızda dahi fotoğrafları çekerken fark ederek ya da fark etmeyerek aslında geçmişe dair belgeler oluşturmaktayız. Araştırmanın ilk bölümünde "sosyal bilimlerde fotoğrafın yeri", "sosyal belgeci fotoğraf", kentlerin kültürel kimlikleri ve tarihsel süreçte değişimleri örneklerle anlatılmıştır. Tezin ikinci bölümünde ise ilk bölümdeki bilgiler ışığında, uygulama alanı olarak seçilen Gaziantep'in "belgeci fotoğraf" kaygısıyla şehrin tarihsel gelişimini içeren araştırma ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Eskiden fotoğrafları çekilmiş yerlerin günümüzde ne kadarı, geçmişi bize anlatıyor? Geçmişteki yaşanan mekanların günümüzdeki durumu yerinde incelenip, fotoğrafları çekilmiş ve sonuçları tez içerisinde sunulmuştur. Ayrıca tezde eski çekilen fotoğrafların, çekildiği zamanda grafik ve baskı alanında ilk kullanım alanlarının örnekleri de bulunmaktadır. Çalışma ulaşılan bilgiler doğrultusunda Gaziantep kenti için yapılan ilk belgeci akademik çalışma olmasından dolayı da gelecek nesillere fikir oluşturulması sağlanılmıştır. |

Lots of scientific methods are used for searching and documenting the questions like the formation of cultural heritage within the historical process and its effect on the visual specifications of the cities. One of the methods that the histiography and sociology shall use during presentation of the specific concepts, ideas, is the most substantial material, the photographs. Besides the reflection of the characteristics of their period, the messages of the images is impressive as much as the textual expression. The documenter side of the photograph has been the most important function of it from the photography invention period to present. Whether architectural or portrait, the photographs give information to the next generations coming after these photographs about the specific subjects. Even in our daily life, we create documents related with the past knowingly or knowingly by taking pictures. In the first section of the research, " place of photography in social sciences", "social documentary photograph", the cultural identities of the cities and historical process, expression methods and importance have been identified with examples. In the second section of the thesis, Gaziantep has been selected as area of application in the light of the information in the first section. A research has been formed covering the historical development of the city and the concern of "documentary photography" of Gaziantep. How much of the history of the places which were previously photographed, are told to use in present? The places where people had resided in the past, have been research on site, their photographs have been taken and the results have been submitted within the thesis. Besides, the examples of the first usage of utilization in printing and graphic area at the time of being shot, are available in the thesis. This study shall provide opinions to the next generation due to its characteristics of being the first documentary study made for Gaziantep in accordance with the obtained information. |
