The aim of the study is to examine the hopelessness levels of the associatedegree students and if there is any difference in hopelessness levels in termsof various variables (gender, class level, mother and father education status,income level, personality traits, quality of life, social relations). Theuniverse of the study is composed by the students enrolled in SalihliVocational School in 2017-2018 education year. The sample consists of 272students voluntarily participated in the survey. In order to determine thehopelessness levels of the students who participated in the research, the “BeckHopelessness Scale (BHS)” and personal questionnaire form are applied. Datafrom the study are tested with frequency and percentage distributions, descriptivestatistics, Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis tests. According to the researchresult, the level of hopelessness of the students participating in the researchhas a mild level (4.342 ± 3.627). This result shows that the students who are studyingat Salihli Vocational School are not hopeless about the future. In addition, itis also found that there are significant differences (p <0.05) between thehopelessness level of the students and the variables such as income status,personality traits, quality of life and social relations of the families. |

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ön lisansöğrencilerinin umutsuzluk düzeylerini ve umutsuzluk düzeylerinde çeşitlideğişkenler açısından (cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, anne ve baba öğrenim durumu,gelir durumu, kişilik özellikleri, yaşam kalitesi, sosyal ilişkiler) farklılık olup olmadığının incelemektir.Araştırmanın evrenini Salihli Meslek Yüksekokulu’nda 2017-2018 eğitim öğretimdöneminde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi ise araştırmayagönüllü olarak katılan toplam 272 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılanöğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeylerini tespit etmek için “Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği(BUÖ)” ve kişisel anket formu uygulanmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerfrekans ve yüzdesel dağılımlar, betimsel istatistikler, Mann Whiney U veKruskall Wallis ile test edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre, araştırmayakatılan öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeyi (4.342 ± 3.627) hafif düzeyde çıkmıştır.Bu sonuç Salihli MYO’da öğrenim gören öğrencilerin gelecekten umutsuz olmadığınıgöstermektedir. Ayrıca ailelerinin gelirdurumu, kişilik özellikleri, yaşamkaliteleri ve sosyal ilişkileri gibi değişkenler ile öğrencilerin umutsuzluk düzeyiarasında anlamlı farklılıklar (p<0.05) bulunmuştur. |
