Tanzimat’ın ilânı (1839) ile birlikte ülkenin idari taksimatındaönemli değişikliklere gidilmiştir. Buradaki amaç; Merkezi otoriteyigüçlendirmekti. Ancak, Tanzimat’ın getirdiği yeni düzenlemeler ülkegenelinde özellikle de devlet otoritesinden uzak olan bölgelerde şiddetlimuhalefet ile karşılaştı.Tanzimattan önce bölgede Cizre-Bohtan Emiri olarak görev yapanBedirhan Bey, izlediği politikalar nedeniyle devlet nezdinde önemli bir nüfuzelde etti. Tanzimat’ın Diyarbakır ve çevresinde uygulanması ile birliktemevcut konumunu kaybedeceğinden endişelenerek bazı Kürt beylerini deyanına alarak devlete karşı büyük bir isyan hareketine girişti. Onun bu isyanı,o dönemde, İmparatorluğun hem içinde hem dışında büyük yankılaruyandırmış ve 1843-1848 yılları arasında devleti uzun bir süre meşguletmişti |

With the declaration of Tanzimat (1839), drastic changes were madein the governing system of the country. One of the aims of this was to makethese administrators dependent on the central goverment more powerful.However, it was met with a huge opposition particularly in the areas wherestate had less control. Before the declaration of the Tanzimat Bedirhan Bey, Emir of CizreBohtan on the side of goverment adopting policies made him a very poweful figure in that region. The implementation of the Tanzimat changes in Diyarbakır region made Bedirhan un easy as the felt that he would lose his outhority in the region, so he staged a big rising against the state with some Kurdish Beys. The rebellion caused lots of problems not only in the state but also out of its borders. This rebellion took much time of the state to suppress it in the years of 1843 and 1848. |
