Bölgesel kalkınma politikaları, belirli sosyal ve ekonomik kriterler bakımından ortak özellik taşıyan ve öncelikle ülke ortalamasının altında yer alan bölgelerin kalkındırılarak diğer bölgelerle arasındaki gelişmişlik farkının giderilmesini amaçlar. Turizm bu noktada özellikle tarım ve sanayi faaliyetleri için yeterli kaynak ve imkâna sahip olmayan, buna karşın zengin turizm potansiyeline sahip bölgelerin kalkınması açısından kullanılabilecek önemli bir araç haline gelmektedir. Turizm sektörünün ülke ve bölge ekonomileri üzerine etkilerini ve bu etkilerin bölgelerarası dengesizlikleri gidermedeki rolünü inceleyen bu çalışmada, öncelikle göller bölgesinin sahip olduğu alternatif turizm potansiyeli ortaya koyulmuş ve bu potansiyelin göller bölgesi kalkınmasında bir dinamik olarak kullanılabilirliği teorik ve ampirik olarak tartışılmıştır |

Regional development policies target to develop regions that share certain common below-country average economic and social characteristics and to diminish differences with rest of the more developed regions. Tourism, in this respect, has become a prominent tool for development of the regions that are rich in tourism potential which may even lack in resources and capabilities of agricultural and industrial activities.In this study, which examines the effects of tourism sector to country and regional economies and the roles of these effects on inter-regional inequalities, firstly, the Lakes Region’s alternative tourism potential has been explained and this potential’s exploitability in the Lakes Region’s development as a dynamic has been discussed from the theoretical and empirical perspectives |
