Kentlerde günümüzde yaşanan eşitsizler ile mülksüzleşme süreçleri karşısında kentliler; Lefebvreci anlamda kent haklarını kullanmayı ve yaşam alanı olması gereken kentlerde söz sahibi olmayı istemektedirler. 27 Mayıs 2013 tarihinde İstanbul‟da, Gezi Parkı‟nda başlayan eylemler de, çevreci bir duruşla ve kamusal bir kent mekânının özelleştirilmemesi ve ticarileştirilmemesi isteğiyle bir kentsel protesto, bir meydan hareketi olarak başlamıştır. Ancak daha sonra, sermayeye ve iktidara karşı yeni bir sosyal hareket biçimine bürünmüştür. Bu yazıda, Gezi Hareketi‟ne katılanların gözünden Gezi‟nin mekânsal ve sınıfsal bağlamda yeni bir sosyal hareket olma niteliği, kent hakkı kavramı üzerinden tartışılmaktadır. Çalışmanın verisi, eylemin aktif katılımcıları arasında yer alan 6 grubun temsilcileriyle gerçekleştirilen derinlemesine görüşmelere dayanmaktadır |

Due to widespread inequalities and dispossession processes in cities, urban people want to use their right to city and have a voice in cities as living spaces. Gezi Parkı protests in İstanbul on 27th May, 2013 started as an urban protest and square movement against the privatization and commercialization of urban public square with an environmentalist stand. Yet, the Gezi Movement then turned into a new social movement against the government and the capitalist class. In this article, the status of Gezi Movement as a new social movement in terms of space and class are discussed on the base of the concept of the right to city. The data used in this study comes from in-depth interviews with the representatives of the six groups actively involved in the Gezi movement |
