Bir reform ve çağdaşlaşma programı olan Meslek-i İçtima akımı1900'lerin hemen başından Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarına kadar dönem dönemetkili olmuş bir fikir akımıdır. Akımın fikir temelleri Prens Sabahattintarafından atılmış ve Meslek-i İçtima onun fikirleri etrafında gelişmiştir.Sabahattin ilm-i içtima, Adem-i merkeziyet ve Teşebbüs-i şahsi gibikavramları Osmanlı toplumuna uyarlayarak bir reform programı oluşturmayaçalışmıştır. Meşrutiyetin ikinci kez ilanından sonra İttihat ve Terakki’ye karşıortaya çıkan muhalefetin fikri önderliğini yapmıştır |

Sabahattin had tried toadapt some notions such as Social Sciences, Federalism, liberalism to theOttoman society. Also he had assumed the intellectual leadership of theopposition against to Union and Progress in the constitutional period |
