Nogay Turks took their names from Nogai Han, the grandchild of Genghis Khan. Nogays ,(and) together with the Nogay Army established with Nogay Khan have begun to be remembered by this name. As a result of Nogay Turks had efforts to establish dominance in the Crimean region of Russia, Nogay Turks and Ottoman Empire have entered into close relationship. But, İn consuquence of Effectiveness of Ottoman Empire reduce in that region and Dominance of Russia regain in that region, Nogay Turks who wanted to escape from Russian massacres, assimilation actions and politic pressures had to migrate in large mass from the region. A large part of these migrations have come to the Ottoman Empire. In recent years, Nogay Turks have had the opportunity to announce their names more with association studies and, to a lesser extent, research. In this study, the cultural values of the Nogay Turks, which are still a closed community feature, examined the changes in the number of weddings and the changes of these customs over the years and aimed to determine the level of adaptation to the local people they are included in |

Nogay Türkleri adlarını Cengizhan’ın torunu olan Nogay Han’dan almıştır. Nogaylar, Nogay Han ile kurulan Nogay Ordası ile beraber, bu isimle anılmaya başlamıştır. Rusya’nın Kırım bölgesinde hâkimiyet kurma çabaları sonucu Nogay Türkleri Osmanlı devleti ile sıkı ilişkilere girmiştir. Ancak Rusya’nın, Osmanlı devletinin bölgedeki etkinliğini azaltması ve bölgede hâkimiyet kurması ile beraber, katliamlardan, asimilasyon çalışmalarından ve politik baskılardan kaçmak isteyen Nogay Türkleri bölgeden büyük kitleler halinde göç etmek zorunda kalmışlardır. Bu göçlerin büyük bir kısmı Osmanlı Devletine olmuştur. Son yıllarda dernekleşme çalışmaları ve az da olsa yapılan araştırmalar ile Nogay Türkleri, adlarını daha fazla duyurma imkânı bulmuşlardır. Bu çalışmada halen kapalı bir topluluk özelliği gösteren Nogay Türklerinin sahip oldukları kültürel değerler arasında düğün adetleri ve bu adetlerin yıllar içerisindeki değişimleri incelenmiş, dâhil oldukları yerli halkla uyum sağlama düzeylerinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. |
