Şarhöyük – Dorylaion, located to the North ofEskişehir city centre, has exhibited a cultural sequence from the 3rdmillennium BC to the end of the 12th century AD. Although notconnected to a stratigraphical architectural layer, the excavations on the moundprovided a series of figurines, spindle-whorls, weights, and a considerablelarge repertory of pottery dating to the Early Bronze Age. The Early Bronze Agestamp seal, unearthed in 2016 campaign and introduced in this paper, is anothercomponent of this group. The stamp with conical form, and bearing compositedecoration patterns on the circular stamp surface, has been compared to thestone and earthen stamp seals from the other settlements excavated in CentralWestern Anatolia, in sense of form and decoration patterns. The seal inquestion can be dated roughly to the end of the Early Bronze Age II, withregards to the parallels and Early Bronze Age pottery from the mound. |

Eskişehir şehir merkezinin kuzeyinde yer alanŞarhöyük – Dorylaion yerleşmesi, bugüne dek MÖ 3. binyıldan MS 12. yüzyıla dekuzanan bir kültürel devamlılık ortaya koymaktadır. Höyükte gerçekleştirilenkazılarda Erken Tunç Çağı verileri, mimari tabaka olarak tespit edilememişolmasına rağmen höyüğün genelinde figürinler, ağırşaklar, ağırlıklar ve genişbir çanak çömlek repertuvarı ile temsil edilmektedir. Bu yazıda tanıtılacakolan ve 2016 yılı kazı çalışmalarında tespit edilen bir adet Erken Tunç Çağıpişmiş toprak damga mührü de bu buluntu topluluğunun önemli bir parçasınıoluşturmaktadır. Konik formlu, yuvarlak bir bezeme yüzeyine sahip ve kompozitçentik bezemeli olan bu damga mühür, İç Batı Anadolu bölgesinde tespit edilentaş ve pişmiş toprak damga mühürlerle form ve bezeme açısındankarşılaştırılmıştır. İncelenen mühür, paraleller ve Şarhöyük ETÇ çanak çömleğidikkate alındığında, kabaca ETÇ II’nin son evrelerine tarihlendirilebilir. |
