antioksidan aktivitesinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Centaurea Pterocaula 'u yağındanuzaklaştırılmak için sokslet apareyi ile petrol eterinde ekstrakte edildi. Sonra materyal%70 lik metanolde tekrar ekstraksiyona tabi tutuldu ve çözücüsünden uzaklaştırıldı.Toplam fenolik madde konsantrasyonu Folin-Ciocalteu metoduna, serbest radikalsüpürme etkisi DPPH metoduna göre ve indirgeme gücü ise Oyaizu metoduna göreyapıldı. Bitkinin fenolik yapısı HPLC ile belirlendi. Sonuçlar sentetik antioksidan olanBHT (Butillenmişhidroksitoluen) ve BHA (Butillenmişhidroksianisol) ile kıyaslandı.Anahtar Kelime: Antioksidan, Centaurea Pterocaula, DPPH, Folin-Ciocalteu, OyaizuDETERMINATION OF PHENOLIC CONTENT AND ANTIOXIDANT EFFECTOF CENTAUREA PTEROCAULA TRUATV. IN KONYAAbstract: The present study was carried out to determine of Centaurea Pterocaulawhich was collected in region of Konya Tuz Lake. It was extracted with petroleumether using a soxhleth apparatus for remove it's oil. Then the defatted plant materialswere extracted with 70% methanol.and concentrated. Total phenol concentration wasdetermined by Folin-Ciocalteu method, free radical scavenging activities weredetermined based on DPPH and determined reducing power based on Oyaizu method.The phenolic compound of C.
