In dentistry, alginate measurement substances that are used for taking measurements from patient’s mouths are obtained with mixture of water and alginate dust in a certain rate. This mixture is prepared manually or by machine. Ordinary alginate preparation machines don't have automatic proportioning units. Studies indicated that; when alginate impression material is made hand proportioned, the proportion has %10-20 warp. In this study, an alginate mixer machine which has an automatic dust/water proportioning unit was designed, its software was developed and its prototype was produced. The parameters that are necessary for mixture can be entered and saved previously to the developed device. The quantity of substances to be mixed can be set by a load cell that communicates with the microprocessor. Sensitively proportioned dust/water mixture then is sent to mixturing unit. The mixturing unit has same working and construction parameters with ordinary alginate mixers |
