SüleymanDemirel ÜniversitesiTIP FAKÜLTESİ DERGİSİ: 2004 Eylül; 11(3) Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin sigara, alkol alışkanlıkları ve sosyokültürel özelliklerinin incelenmesi Sıtkı Orak, Tangül Özen, M.Ertekin Orak ÖzetSüleyman Demirel Üniversitesinin 1997-1998 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar döneminde basit tesadüfü örnekleme yöntemi ile ankete dayalı yapılan bu çalışmada 712 öğrencinin sigara, alkol vb alışkanlıkları ve sosyokültürel özellikleri incelendi. Ankete katılan öğrencilerin yaşları 17-26 arasında olup 378'i (%53.1) erkek, 334'ü (%46.9) kız idi. 712 öğrenciden 348'i (%48.8) sigara içen, 107'si (%15.0) alkol alan, 88'i (%12.36) kahvehaneye giden, 174'ü (%23.73) diğer alışkanlıkları olanlardır. Öğrencilerin bir veya birden fazla sosyokültürel etkinliklere katılmaları ise; 144'ü (%20.2) güzel sanatlarla ilgili, 500'ü (%70.2) TV+radyo izleyen, 305'i (%42.8) tiyatro-sine- maya giden, 473'ü (%66.4) kitap- gazete okuyan, 301'i (%42.3) spor yapan ve 60'ı (%8.4) diğer uğraşılar olarak bulundu. Bu öğrencilerin derslerinde başarıları ise; 62'si (%8.7) çok iyi, 278'i (%39.1) iyi, 280'i (%39.4) orta, 64'ü (%9.0) zayıf ve 26'sı (%3.6) çok zayıf olduğu anlaşıldı. Abstract A study of smoking, alcohol habits and socio-cultural features of students at Suleyman Demirel UniversityIn this study which was made basing on a questionnaire and using the method of simple randomised sam- pling in the spring semester of 1997-1998 educational year of SDU, smoking and alcohol habits and socio-cul- tural properties of 712 students were studied. The ages of students answering the questionnaire were between 17 and 26 and 378 (53.1%) of them were male and 334 (46.9%) were female. 348 (48.8%) of the 712 students smoked, 107 (15.0%) drank alcohol, 88 (12.36%) went to cafes, and 174 (23.73%) of them had some other habits. The attendance of students to one or more socio-cultural activities was found as follows: 144 (20.2%) were interested in the fine arts, 500 (70.2%) were keen on radio and TV, 305 (42.8%) went to the cinemas or the the- atres, 473 (66.4%) read books and newspapers, 301 (42.3%) did sports and 60 (8.4%) were interested in some other activities. The success rates of these students were as follows: 62 (8.7%) of them were very good, 278 (39.1%) good, 280 (39.4%) middling at lessons 64 (9%) unsuccessful and 26 (3.6%) very unsuccessful.
