AbstractThe aim of our review is to make a comprehensive survey about halitosis which is a quite common disease around the world. Halistosis has not been sufficiently discussed scientifically because it is still a taboo in many countries. The community and even many physicians dont have information as much as necessary about halitosis. The patients may be subjected to improper or unnecessary treatment due to misdiagnosis of halitosis. In many countries, halitosis is seen as a cosmetic trouble rather than a health problem. For these reasons, halitosis can be a serious burden on national economies. |

Projemizin amacı; Dünya genelinde oldukça sık görülen, birçok ülkede hala bir tabu olduğundan dolayı bilimsel düzeyde yeteri kadar ele alınamamış olan, toplum bireylerinin ve hatta birçok hekimin gerektiği kadar bilgi sahibi olmadığı, hatalı tanılardan dolayı hastaların yanlış veya gereksiz tedavilere maruz bırakıldığı, yine birçok ülkede sağlık açısından ziyade kozmetik bir sorun olarak görüldüğü için ülke ekonomilerine ciddi yük getirebilen ağız kokusu üzerine kapsamlı bir gözden geçirme yapmaktır. |
