Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a syndrome characterized by symptoms and signs of increased intracranial pressure without a structural lesion like intracranial space occupying lesion, meningeal inflamation and venous occlusion. In these patients neurologic examination is normal without sixth cranial nerve paralysis. The cause of IIH is unclear and as such it remains a diagnosis of exclusion. In this case, we aimed to report a patient who takes a topiramat treatment with intracranial hypertension signs due to rapid weight gain after the antidepressant usage. |

İdyopatik intrakranyal hipertansiyon (İİH), artmış intrakraniyal basınç semptom ve bulgularının intrakranyal yer kaplayıcı lezyon, meningeal enflamasyon ve venöz tıkanıklık gibi yapısal bir lezyonun yokluğunda ortaya çıkması ile karakterize bir sendromdur. Bu hastalarda altıncı kranyal sinir paralizisi dışında diğer nörolojik muayene bulguları normaldir. İİH'nin nedeni tam olarak açıklanamamıştır ve tanı diğer nedenlerin dışlanması ile konur. Burada antidepresan kullanımına bağlı hızlı kilo artışı sonrası intrakranial hipertansiyon belirtileri ortaya çıkan ve topiramat tedavisi alan bir olgu sunmayı amaçladık. |
