Çanakkale front which is one of the mostimportant fronts in the First World War is also worth studying in educationaldimension as well as military and political aspects. The teacher is also one ofthe most important alive actors of education. At the front and behind it theteachers' actions have direct impact on educational institutions and also havethe power to influence other agencies. In this research, conditions of teachersand student teachers involved in Çanakkale front and behind it and effects ofthe war on educational institutions were discussed through the teacher.Research data was collected through some archival documents and written workson the subject based on official correspondence in the years 1914-1916. Thesedata were evaluated by using descriptive analysis method. Based on the findingsof research overall the following conclusion was reached: While volunteer ordraftee teachers were battling in the defence of the homeland at the front,behind it many schools remained without teacher and the education wasnegatively affected by that situation. |

Birinci Dünya Savaşında en önemli cephelerdenbiri olan Çanakkale Cephesi, askeri ve siyasî yönden olduğu kadar eğitimboyutunda da araştırılmaya değerdir. Eğitimin canlı aktörlerinden en önemlisiöğretmendir. Cephede ve cephe gerisinde öğretmenlerin faaliyetleri, eğitimkurumunu doğrudan etkilediği gibi diğer kurumları da etkileme gücüne sahiptir.Bu araştırmada Çanakkale Cephesinde ve cephe gerisinde görev alan öğretmen veöğretmen adaylarının durumları ve savaşın öğretmen üzerinden eğitim-öğretimkurumuna etkileri ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, 1914-1916 yıllarındakiresmî yazışmalara dayalı bazı arşiv belgeleri ve konuyla ilgili yazılıeserlerdir. Bu veriler, betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarakdeğerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularından hareketle genel olarak şu sonucaulaşılmıştır: Gönüllü veya askere çağrılan öğretmenler, cephede vatan savunmasında çarpışırken cephegerisinde birçok okul, öğretmensiz kalmış ve bundan eğitim-öğretim olumsuzetkilenmiştir. |
