dc.description Two inseparable concepts are human and environment. Human is consistently communication within the environment. Water is life source of humans and it is the most beneficial component for lives. Ground waters include several chemical elements and minerals which control usage properties of water. These elements may create positive and negative effects in human body. Therefore, several researches are present related to physical, chemical, bacteriological and radioactivity properties of water. Radioactivity properties of waters are one of the important properties which are controlled usage conditions of water. Due to the analyses of radioactive elements such as uranium, thorium, radium and radon within groundwater is fairly expensive, determining of groundwater radioactivity is difficult. Therefore, gross alpha and beta radioactivity are analyzed initially in groundwater samples, and then, origin of radioactivity is researched in groundwater having to high radioactivity. Information related to origin, determination and effect to human health of radioactivity within ground waters have been compiled in the study. It is thought that these information will be useful for researchers.
