This essay aims to examine the effects of Espirit and Surprise concepts on artists and, art objects in modern and post modern period plastic arts as a valiation instrument. Espirit and Surprise concepts have inserted with popular culture. Concepts, betokens that looking for diversity and originality in art, with unexpected and illusive perception compositions. Subject manner of unexpected and illusive perception bottomed on effect constitution causes to translate spiritual aspect of art objects. In this study, priorly impending Robert Gober and Rene Magritte and selected artists which lived in Modern and Post Modern period and supported by art institution are going to exemplify and analyse. |

Bu makale, modern ve sonrası plastik sanatlarda değerlendirme aracı olarak “Espri ve Sürpriz” kavramlarının, sanatçı ve sanat nesnesi üzerindeki etkilerini sorgulamayı amaçlamaktadır. “Espri” ve “Sürpriz” kavramları, kültürel yaşama tüketim kültürüyle birlikte girmiştir. Kavramlar; sanatta, beklenmedik, algıyı yanıltıcı betimlemeler ile farklılık ve özgünlük arayışını işaret eder. Söz konusu algı şokuna dayalı etki oluşturma tavrı da sanat nesnesinin tinsel yönünü sığlaştırarak tinselliğinin ötelenmesi sonucunu doğurur.
