Today, sitting posturehas an important place in the creation of ergonomic living spaces. In order tominimize the force of gravity on its body while carrying out some actionsnecessary to sustain life, human beings exhibit various postures, especially sitting.That is why; the seating furniture needed for many actions were developedaccording to the nature of the action, and naturally, according to thetraditions of the societies, their lifestyles, the technological possibilitiesof the age, and even the gender, age and social status of individuals. However,the greatest improvement in the living furniture is seen in the ancient periodsof Egypt, Aegean- Greek and Roman civilizations. In these civilizations, it isseen that furniture is ergonomically developed and diversified. Thrones, chairsand seats were used by kings and nobles; stools were furniture used byeveryone. Sitting furniture has also provided the development of couch andtable furniture. The development of sitting furniture in these civilizationshas been the basis for the development of ergonomic sitting furniture in theWestern world, and the features of this furniture are reflected in today'sfurniture design. Especially, the basicform, ergonomic, stylistic and construction features of sitting furniture andother many features have come from the antique sitting furniture to the presentday. The aim of this study is to provide a written resource for design andresearch studies on sitting furniture design. |

Günümüzdeergonomik yaşam mekânlarının oluşturulmasında oturma postürü önemli bir yeresahiptir. İnsanoğlu, yaşamını sürdürmek için gerekli bazı eylemleri yaparkenbedenine binen yerçekimi kuvvetini en az düzeye indirgemek amacıyla baştaoturma eylemi olmak üzere çeşitli postürler sergilemektedir. Bu nedenledir ki;birçok eylemin yapılabilmesi için ihtiyaç duyulan oturma mobilyaları da eyleminözelliğine göre ve doğal olarak toplumların geleneklerine, yaşam biçimlerine,çağın teknolojik olanaklarına hatta bireylerin cinsiyeti, yaşları ve sosyalstatülerine göre tarih boyunca çok farklı şekillerde gelişim göstermiştir.Ancak, oturma mobilyasındaki en büyük gelişim antik dönemde Mısır, Ege-Yunan veRoma uygarlıklarında görülmektedir. Bu uygarlıklarda oturma mobilyasınınergonomik olarak geliştiği ve çeşitlendiği görülmektedir. Tahtlar, iskemlelerve koltuklar krallar ve soylular tarafından kullanılırken; tabureler herkesinkullandığı bir mobilyadır. Oturma mobilyası sedir ve masa mobilyasının dagelişimini sağlamıştır. Bu uygarlıklarda oturma mobilyasının gelişimi Batıdünyasında ergonomik oturma mobilyasının gelişimi için bir temel teşkil etmişve bu mobilyaların özellikleri günümüz mobilya tasarımına yansımıştır. Oturmamobilyasının temel biçimi, ergonomik, üslup ve yapım özellikleri başta olmaküzere birçok özellik antik dönem oturma mobilyasından günümüze gelmiştir. Buçalışmanın oturma mobilyası tasarımı konusundaki tasarım ve araştırmaçalışmalarına yazılı bir kaynak oluşturması amaçlanmıştır. |
