Üretimve tüketim bakımından geniş bir etki alanına sahip olan tekstil ve moda sektörüsürdürülebilirlikle birlikte ele alınmakla beraber, sürdürülebilir kalkınmanınüç temel unsuruna ek olarak eğitim alanı da önemli bir ölçüt olarakbelirmiştir. Bu çalışmada, moda sektörünün neden olduğu olumsuz sonuçlara yönelikmoda tasarımı eğitiminde sürdürülebilirlik konusundaki yaklaşımlar tespitedilmek istenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, çalışma kapsamında Türkiye’den üç üniversiteve yurtdışından iki üniversitede ilgili alanda çalışma yapan öğretim elemanlarıve öğrencilerle sözlü görüşmeler yapılmış, yine yurtdışından bir üniversite ileinternet üzerinden yapılan sözlü görüşme ile araştırmanın verileri eldeedilmiştir. Çalışmada benimsenen olgubilim yöntemi ile, sürdürülebilirlik olgusununmoda tasarımı eğitiminde nasıl algılandığı anlaşılmak istenmiştir. Araştırma için üniversitelerdeki eğitmenler ve öğrencilerle sözlü görüşmelergerçekleştirilmiş, belge/bilgi toplama ve gözlemlerden elde edilen verilerle konununhangi bağlamda incelendiği ve ele alındığı analiz edilmiştir. Bumakalede, sürdürülebilirlik eğitimine bütüncül bakmanın gerekliliği ve eğitimkurumlarının sürdürülebilirlik stratejilerine yönelik faaliyetlerdebulunmalarına dair savı araştırmanın bulguları ile sunulmaktadır. |

The textile and fashionindustry’s wide impact of production and consumption has been consideredtogether with sustainability and additionally, education has emerged as animportant criteria in last years following the basic three elements ofsustainable development. In this study, it was aimed to determine thesustainability approaches in fashion design education towards the negativeresults caused by the fashion industry. In this context, a field research thatincluded interviews conducted with faculty members and students in the relatedfield in three universities in Turkey and in two foreign universities was conducted,and online interviews were conducted with a foreign university to collect thestudy data.By adopting phenomenology forthis study, it is aimed to understand how sustainability is perceived infashion design education. For the research, interviews were conducted withacademics and students at universities and data were obtained by collecting thedocuments and participating observations. Thus, the context in which thesubject was examined and discussed were analyzed. In this article, the argumentof the necessity of thinking sustainability education holistically and the needof a strategic approach of the educational institutions for sustainability arepresented with the findings of the study. |
