The article aims to analyze the mutuallycontradictive relationship between the institutionalization of art and itsautonomy in tandem with museum. After the modernity, the museum and the art hasexperienced a process of reflexive identification, thus ended up an inevitabledependency. The museum-art, namely art work defined by the museum or vice versa,increases the questions about the autonomy of each sphere. In this context, thearticle will focus on the art’s challenge to regain its autonomy in the museum,as a contestation zone. Thus, the article will analyze the effect of the museumin the formation of counter-culture emerged from avangards’ resistance towardsformalist perspective and the aura of art. After 1970s, the process of theinstitutionalization of counter-culture by Neo-Avangards via museum will beevaluated, accordingly the perseverance of the autonomy of art vis-à-vis theinstitution. Consequently, it is acknowledged the necessity of a network ofinstitutions, which grasps the autonomy, to free the art from its everlasting dilemmaof autonomy and institution. |

Makale,sanatın kurumsallaşması ile özerkleşmesi arasındaki karşılıklı-çelişik ilişkiyimüze ekseninde incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Modernlik ile birlikte, müze ve sanatbirbirini tanımlar hale gelmiş, bu durum kaçınılmaz bir bağımlılık yaratmıştır.Müze-sanatı, müze üzerinden tanımlanan sanat yapıtı ya da tersi, her alanın özerkliğinedair sorgulamaları artırmıştır. Bu bağlamda, makalede, sanatın bir mücadelealanı olarak müzede özerkliğini kazanma çabası üzerinde durulacaktır. Bundanhareketle, avangardların formalist anlayış ile sanatın biricikliğine direnerekoluşturduğu karşı-kültürün oluşumunda müzenin etkisi incelenecektir. 1970sonrasında, Neo-Avangardların bu karşı-kültürü müze üzerindenkurumsallaştırması süreci değerlendirilecek, buna göre sanatın özerkliğininkuruma direnme gücü tartışılacaktır. Neticede, sanatın kurum ve özerklikikileminden özgürleşmesinin, özerklik anlayışını özümsemiş bir kurumsal yapıile gerçekleşeceği düşünülmektedir. |
