Kilim dokumalar, Anadolu insanının doğum, ölüm, ayrılık, kavuşma, evlenme, doğal afetler gibi günlük yaşantısında yer alan olayları ve bu olaylarla ilgili oluşturduğu inançlarını aktarmanın bir aracı olmuştur. Yaşantısındaki her olayı ve inancını simgeleştiren dokumacı bunu dokumasına yansıtarak kendini ifade etmenin yolunu bulmuştur. Anadolu'da önemli yeri olan inançlardan birisi de nazar inancıdır. Bir kimsenin kin, nefret ya da kıskançlık dolu bakışından doğan kötü sonuçların hepsine birden halk arasında 'nazar değmek' adı verilmektedir. Yaşanan felaketlerin, başa gelen kötü olayların açıkça sebebi olarak görülen nazarın güzel ve iyi olan her şeye değeceği düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle nazardan korunmak için nazarlık adı verilen birçok nesne geliştirilmiş, dokumalarda da bu amaçla pıtrak, muska, çengel vb. gibi simgeler kullanılmıştır. Bu simgelerden en önemlisi de “göz” dür. İnanışa göre, nazara yani göz değmeye karşı korunmanın en kolay şekli “göz”dür. Kötü gözün zararlı etkisini yine ancak göz önlemektedir. Göz motifi dokumalarda çoğunlukla üçgen, kare ya da beşgen gibi geometrik şekillerde yer almıştır.Anahtar Kelimeler: düz dokumalar, motif, inanç, göz, nazar.ABSTRACTRug weaving has been a tool of passing on events of Anatolian People's daily life such as birth, death, separation, reunion, marriage and natural disasters. The weavers, who symbolize all of the events of their life, have found a way to express themselves by reflecting them on their weave. One of the beliefs, which take important places in Anatolia is the evil eye belief. Bad consequences rising from the looks of somebody full of grudge, hate, jealousy is called misfortune from evil eye. Evil eye, which is seen as the primary cause of misfortunes is thought to affect everything that is beautiful and good. Therefore as protection from the evil eye, an object called the evil eye bead has been developed, and in weavings, symbols such as amulets, charms, hooks etc. are used in this purpose. The most important of these symbols is the “eye”. According to the belief, the easiest way to protect against the evil eye, In other words the misfortune from the eye is the “eye”. Only the eye prevents the harmful effects of the eye.
