Bu çalışma huzurevlerinde kalan yaşlı kadınların, psiko-sosyolojik teoriler bağlamında, mevcut ve olası problemlerini ve genel olarak yaşlı kadın olmak nosyonun içeriğini ve hatlarını belirlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmanın metodolojik boyutu, Isparta Huzurevi’nde kalan yaşlı kadınlarla, belirli aralıklarla yapılmış ve yarı yapılandırılmış bire bir mülakat tekniğini içermektedir. Çalışmanın bulguları tutarlı ve anlamlı bağlamlar dâhilinde sınıflandırılmış ve gerekli yerlerde doğrudan katılımcıların ifadelerine yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, huzurevinde kalan yaşlı kadınların psikolojik ve sosyolojik nedenlerden kaynaklanan sorunlarının olduğu saptanmıştır. Genel anlamda, yaşanılan sorunların geleneksel toplumlardaki genç ve yetişkin kadınların yaşadıkları ile paralellik gösterdiği ya da nedenlerinin doğrudan yaşamlarının o dönemleri olduğu kanısına ulaşılmıştır. Bu noktada yalnızca toplum temelli ve köklü çözüm önerilerinin yaşlı kadın sorunlarını çözmede başarılı olabileceği ve ayrıca daha fazla akademik çalışmanın onların sorunlarını belirlemek ve onlara daha iyi yaşam koşullarını sağlamak adına yürütülmesinin önemine vurgu yapılmıştır |

This study aimed at determining the current and possible problems of elderly women who stay in official old age eventide home and trying to outline the aspects of being old women within the context of psycho-sociological theories. The methodological framework of this study includes one and one interviews with the attendants. In this respect, having met with the interviewees several times intermittently, the outcomes of this study were determined and classified contextually. The findings of this study suggest that elderly women in official old age asylums are suffering from some psychological and sociological problems such as; loneliness and the sense of inadequacy and being excluded the ongoing social processes or not having enough social care and wages and so forth. At the end of the study, it is definitely acknowledged that the problems that the interviewees are facing are mostly in parallel with those young and adult women are dealing with in a traditional society. At this point, as a way of solution, this study suggests that society-based approaches should be applied and more and more inter-discipliner studies must be carried out in order to delve into their problems and find the best way to grant them with better life conditions psychologically, financially and sociologically |
