Günümüzde "inovasyon" (yenilik) ve "Ar-Ge" kavramları ülkelerin en çok üzerinde durduğu kavramlar arasında yer alır. Güney Kore inovasyon ve Ar-Ge çalışmalarının önemini erken kavrayıp ekonomik kalkınmasını bu doğrultuda gerçekleştirebilmiş bir ülkedir. Bilim ve teknoloji politikaları çerçevesinde Ar-Ge çalışmalarına ve inovasyona gereken önemi vermiş ve bu faaliyetlerin sonucunu almıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Ar-Ge ve inovasyonun Güney Kore'nin ekonomik büyümesi üzerindeki etkilerini incelemek ve ekonomik büyümenin temel belirleyicisinin bu argümanlar olduğunu vurgulamaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Ar-Ge harcamaları, ülkedeki araştırmacı sayısı, patent başvuru sayıları ve son olarak da ekonomik büyümeyi temsilen gayri safi yurtiçi hâsıla verileri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın yöntemi olarak Eviews zaman serileri analizi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan incelemelerin yorumlanması sonucu Ar-Ge harcamalarının artmasının ekonomik büyümeyi arttıracağı, ekonomik büyümenin de Ar-Ge faaliyetlerini arttıracağı sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Nowadays innovation and R & D concepts are among the concepts that countries most focus on. South Korea has been able to comprehend the importance of innovation and R & D activities and realize its economic development in this direction. Within the framework of science and technology policies, it has given the necessary importance to R & D studies and innovation and has realized to the conclusion of these activities. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of R&D and innovation on economic growth in South Korea and emphasize that the main determinants of economic growth are these arguments. In accordance with this purpose, R & D expenditures, number of researchers in the country, number of patent applications and finally by considering GDP datas representing to economic growth are discussed. Eviews time series analysis was used as the method of study. As a result of the interpretation of the researches, it was found that the increase in R & D expenditures would increase the economic growth and that economic growth would increase the R & D activities. In addition, it was observed that economic growth will be affected possitively by the level of innovation increases. Keywords: South Korea, Innovation, R&D, Time Series Analysis. |
