Dinî-tasavvufî ve ahlakî hikâyeleri manzum olarak anlatma esasına dayanan Mahzen-i Esrâr mesnevileri, kaynağını İran edebiyatından almasına rağmen Klasik Türk edebiyatında da rağbet gören bir tür olmuştur. XVI. asırda bu geleneği devam ettiren sanatçılardan biri de Muhyî'dir. Bu tezde, öncelikle Türk edebiyatında Mahzen-i Esrâr mesnevilerinin gelişimi incelenmiş, bu türde yazılan eserlerin içerdiği konular ve hikâyeler tablolarla verilmiştir. Akabinde XVI. asırda yaşamış Muhyî mahlaslı şairler araştırılmıştır. Muhyî-i Halvetî'nin kim olduğuna yönelik yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda bu kişinin, Muhyiddin-i Karahisarî olduğu tespit edilmiştir. XVI. asrın, sosyal, siyasi, ekonomik, kültürel ve edebi ortamı araştırılarak, müellifin ve eserinin bu dönemdeki yeri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Daha sonra, Mahzen-i Esrâr'(Sürûr-efza) ın şekil ve muhteva özellikleri incelenmiş ve bu eserin tenkitli metni ortaya konulmuştur. Mahzen-i Esrâr (Sürûr-efza), içerdiği meclisler ve hikâyelerle dinî-tasavvufî ve didaktik bir eserdir. Bu sebeple insanlara kıssadan hisse çıkarılacak bir takım hikâyeler, nükteler, temsiller ve latifeler anlatma yoluyla ahlâkî bir ders vermek amaçlanmıştır. Bu hikâyelerde, hikmetli ve özlü sözlerin yanı sıra muhtelif atasözü ve deyimlere de yer verilmesi bu tür eserlerin dikkat çeken bir yönüdür. Bu yönleriyle eserin ihtiva ettiği hikâyelerin kaynakları araştırılmış, hikâyelerin özetleri verilmiş ve mesnevi türlü yönleriyle tahlil edilmiştir. Despite the fact that Mahzen-i Esrar masnavis which are based on the principal of narrating religious-sufistic and moral stories in a poetic way originate from Persian literature, it has been a genre which has found favour also in classical Turkish literature. One of the men of letters who continued this tradition in the 16th century is Muhyi. In this thesis, the development of Mahzen-i Esrar Masnavis in Turkish literature was primarily studied, the topics of the works written in this genre and the stories were supplied within charts. Subsequently, poetr with the pseudonym Muhyi were researched into. As a result of the researches done regarding whon Muhyi-i Halveti is, it was determined that this person is Muhyiddin-i Karahisari. Thereafter, by doing research into the social, politicial, economic, cultural and literary situation of the 16th century, the place of the author and his work in this period was tried to be revealed later on, the form and contents of Mahzen-i Esrar was studied and a critical text of this work was mafested. With its stories, Mahzen-i Esrar (Sürur-efza) is a religious-sufistic and didactic work. For this reason, it was aimed to give people a moral lesson by means pf narrating stories, epigrams, similes with which the reader could take a moral message. The fact that erudite and wise sayings are included in these stories along with various proverbs and idioms is a distinguishing feature of the work. With these respects the roots of the stories that the work consists of were investigated, summaries of the stories were given and the masnavi was analyzed from different aspects.
