Firdevsî-i Rûmî üç padişah döneminde (Sultan Fatih, II. Bayezid, Sultan Selim) eser vermiş velut bir yazardır. Yazarın en önemli eseri nazım-nesir olarak kaleme aldığı Süleymân-nâme-i Kebîr'dir. Bu çalışmada Süleymân-nâme'nin 37. cildi incelenmiştir. Bu cildin tespit edilen iki nüshasına da ulaşılmıştır. Bu nüshalardan biri Topkapı Sarayı Müzesi, Hazine Kitaplığı bölümünde H.1529 arşiv numarasıyla kayıtlıdır. Diğer nüsha Manisa İl Halk Kütüphanesi, Akhisar Zeynelzade Koleksiyonu'nda 45 Ak Ze 226 arşiv numarasıyla kayıtlıdır. Çalışmada Topkapı nüshası esas alınmış, Manisa nüshasından da yararlanılmıştır. Bu iki nüshaya dayanarak tenkidli metin oluşturulmuştur. Eserde, Hz. Süleyman'ın hayatı ve menkıbeleri anlatılmaktadır. Ayrıca başta tarih olmak üzere menkabe, hadis, tasavvuf, ahlak, edebiyat, felsefe, geometri, tıp, astronomi, felsefe, mitoloji, tılsım, savaş taktikleri gibi pek çok alanla ilgili bilgileri ihtiva etmektedir. Firdevsi-i Rumi was a very productive writer who composed numerous pieces of literature during the reign of three Ottoman sultans (Mehmet II, Bayezid II and Selim I). His most important work is Suleyman-name-i Kebir (Suleyman's Great Epistles) written in a poetric prose style. This study covers the 37th volume of Suleyman-name-i Kebir two identified copies of which were obtained in the Topkapı Museum Library, Istanbul and the Public Library, Manisa. The copy in the Topkapı Museum Library is registered as no: 1529 while the other one is registered 45 AkZe 226 in the Akhisar Zeynelzade Collection. This study is mainly based on the first copy, but the second copy is also used to be able to compose a critic text. Based on these two copies, the criticized text was created. Suleyman-name-i Kebir is mainly about the life and epics of Prophet Suleiman. Also, it provides information about history, epics, hadith (prophet's sayings), mysticism, morality, literature, philosophy, geometry, medicine, astronomy, philosophy, mythology, amulets and war tactics during his time.
