Dördüncü endüstri devrimi içerisinde olduğumuzun tartışıldığı 21. Yüzyılın dünyasında, teknoloji alanında her geçen gün yeni atılımların gerçekleşmesine tanıklık edilmektedir. Bilişim teknolojisinin hızla geliştiği bu yüzyılda ülkemiz, bu teknolojilerin kullanıcısı olan büyük bir nüfusa sahiptir. Söz konusu nüfus içinde gençler ise dikkate değer bir yoğunluktadır. Yaşamın her alanında olduğu gibi, temel eğitimde de teknolojinin yeri daha fazla önem kazanmakta, okullarımızda akıllı tahtalar ve bilgisayar donanımları giderek artmaktadır. Öte yandan ders programlarında bilişim teknolojilerine yer verilmeye, üniversitelerde son yıllarda Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Bölümü” açılmaya başlanmaktadır. Veriye ve enformasyona ulaşmanın hızının bu denli yükseldiği, konuyla ilgili teknolojilerin geliştiği ve eğitime etkisinin arttığı günümüzde, ders kitapları aracılığıyla çocukların teknolojiyle ilişkisinin nasıl kurulduğuna bakılması önemli bir konudur. Türkiye’de eğitim uygulamaları içinde önemli bir yere sahip olan ders kitaplarında teknoloji, özellikle bilişim teknolojilerinin ele alınma biçimleri mevcut durumu analiz etmeye kaynaklık edecek potansiyelleri içermektedir. Bu çalışmada ilköğretim ders kitaplarında teknoloji ve bilişim teknolojisinin hangi konular çerçevesinde ele alındığı ve iletiler çerçevesinde sunulduğu tartışılacaktır. Bu amaçla, 6-10 yaş aralığındaki ilkokul öğrencilerine yönelik olarak hazırlanan “Okuma Yazma Öğreniyorum”, “Türkçe”, “Hayat Bilgisi” ve “Sosyal Bilgiler” isimli ders kitapları araştırma örneklemine dahil edilmiştir. Adı geçen kitaplar birinci sınıftan dördüncü sınıfa kadar okutulanlar arasından seçilmiştir. Bu kitaplar Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın okullarda okutulmasını uygun gördüğü kitaplardır. İlköğretim birinci kademe öğretime karşılık gelen bu ders kitaplarındaki resimler ve metinler içerik analizine tabii tutulmuştur. |

In the world of 21st Century with its fourth industrial revolution, we witness new breakthroughs everyday in the area of technology. In an era with rapidly developing new information and communication technologies, Turkey has a large population demanding and using such technologies. The young population makes up a major part of this population. As it is the case in almost every part of our life, technology occupies ever increasing part of basic education, exemplified by the use of smart boards and computer systems in elementary schools. Besides, school curricula have improved to include courses on information and communication technologies, and the number of a new department by the name of “Computer and Education Technologies Department” has increased in recent years. In a time when the speed of reaching data and information has increased immensely, and when the related technologies has enhanced incredibly with an important impact on education, it is important to look at how the relation of school children to technology is established in school textbooks. It serves as a method to analyze existing status to look at the way how technology and especially information and communication technologies are depicted and presented in school textbooks that play an important role in the implementation of education policy in Turkey. In this study, the discussion focuses on what kind of subjects and messages are utilized in elementary school textbooks to teach and present the issues of technology and information and communication technologies are presented. For this purpose, the books by the name of “I am Learning Reading and Writing – Okuma Yazma Öğreniyorum”, “Turkish – Türkçe”, “Knowledge of Life – Hayat Bilgisi”, and “Social Information – Sosyal Bilgiler” intended for elementary school children between the ages of 6 to 10-year-old are included in the research sample. The abovementioned books are selected among the books taught in the grades from first the fourth at the elementary level. These books are approved by the Ministry of National Education. The method of content analysis is used to assess and evaluate the pictures and texts in these elementary school textbooks. |
