Günümüzde piyasa toplumunun yaşadığı krizi yıllar önce iktisat sosyolojisinin öncü isimlerinden Karl Polanyi “Büyük Dönüşüm” (1944) adlı eserinde “19. yüzyıl uygarlığı çöktü” diyerek ifade etmişti. Polanyi’den günümüze çok fazla şey değişmiş görünmüyor. Günümüzde “iktisadi olanın” “sosyal olan” üzerinde tahakkümünü daha çok artırması küresel kapitalist sistemin daha çok eleştirilmesinin nedenlerinden biri olarak görülebilir. Dünyadaki rasyonaliteye dayalı yerleşik iktisadi sistem insan, iktisat ve toplum arasındaki mesafeleri gün geçtikçe artırıyor. Polanyi piyasa öncesi toplumlarda iktisadi davranışın sosyal ilişkilerle iç içe olduğunu söylerken modernleşmeyle birlikte iktisadi davranışın sosyal ilişkilerden özerk bir duruma geldiğini belirtmektedir. Bu kapsamda Polanyi iktisat sosyolojisi perspektifinden piyasaları olan toplum ile piyasa toplumunu tarihsel argümanlarla karşılaştırmaktadır. |

Karl Polanyi, one of the pioneers of economic sociology described the crisis of the market society in today said that the “19th century civilization has collapsed” in his “Great Transformation” (1944) many years ago. Not much has changed since Polanyi. The fact that the “economic” now increases its domination over the “social” can be seen as one of the reasons for the more criticism of the global capitalist system. The established economic system based on rationality in the world increases the distances between human, economics and society. Polanyi states that economic behavior in pre-market societies is embedded with social relations, while that with modernization, economic behavior has become autonomous from social relations. In this context, Polanyi compares the societies with markets from the perspective of economic sociology and market society with historical arguments. |
