The aim of this research is to determinethe history awareness and the interests of the teachers who continue theireducation in the Department of Social Studies Education. The screening modelwas used in the research. In this context, in 2018-2019, 203 teacher candidateswho have been studying in Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of EducationDepartment of Social Studies Education have formed the working group of theresearch. The obtained data which is collected by "EuropeanComparative Project on Youth's Awarenessof History" a questionnaireprepared by benefiting from Turkey application questions. Descriptivestatistics (percentage and frequency distributions) techniques were used in theanalysis of the data with the help of the statistical package program.According to the results of the study, the teacher candidates accepted theimportance of the field of history and its relevance to their lives. Theteacher candidates who define history as a guiding, up-to-date statement,guiding society, impressive, a source of adventure and excitement emphasizedthe importance of concrete, tangible, visible projection in the presentation ofhistory. Teacher candidates interests in history lessons focused on the issuesthey associate with their cultural values and geography. |

Buaraştırmanın amacı Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenimlerinisürdüren öğretmen adaylarının tarih bilinci ve tarih derslerindeki ilgialanlarını belirlemektir. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda2018-2019 yılında Afyon Kocatepe Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Sosyal BilgilerEğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenimlerini sürdüren 203 öğretmen adayı araştırmanınkatılımcılarını oluşturmuştur. Elde edilen veriler “Gençlerin Tarih BilinciÜzerine Karşılaştırmalı Avrupa Projesi”nin Türkiye uygulaması sorularındanyararlanarak hazırlanan anket formu ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizindeistatistik paket programı yardımıyla betimsel istatistik (yüzde ve frekansdağılımları) teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre; öğretmenadayları tarih alanının önemini ve hayatlarıyla olan ilgisini kabuletmişlerdir. Tarihi yol gösterici, günceli açıklamada yararlı, toplumuyönlendirici, etkileyici, macera ve heyecan kaynağı olarak tanımlayan öğretmenadayları tarihin sunuluşunda somut, elle tutulur, gözle görülür bir şekildeyansıtılmasının önemini vurgulamışlardır. Öğretmen adaylarının tarihderslerindeki ilgi alanları ise kendi kültürel değerleri ve coğrafyalarıylailişkilendirdikleri konulara yoğunlaşmıştır. |
