The concepts of change and transformation are essential in urban planning. Over the course of time, the transformation of urban places has become one of the main means of change. The aim of this research is to investigate the social, economic and environmental links between sustainability and urban transformation in a spatial dimension. Another objective of this study is to reveal the role of the urban transformation projects implemented in Isparta province, one of the medium scaled province of The Republic of Turkey, in ensuring urban sustainability and to explain its dimensional effects. It is seen that the urban transformation works implemented in the city center of Isparta are not integrated in urban planning and the actions taken are not urban transformation but a land transformation. |

Kentlerin planlanmasında değişim ve dönüşüm kavramları olmazsa olmazlardandır. Süreç içerisinde kentsel mekânların dönüşümü, değişimin ana araçlarından biri haline gelmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sürdürülebilirlik ve kentsel dönüşüm arasındaki sosyal, çevresel, ekonomik bağıntıların mekânsal boyutta incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın bir diğer amacı ise Türkiye’nin orta ölçekli kentlerinden olan Isparta’da, kent merkezinde uygulanan kentsel dönüşüm projelerinin kentsel sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanmasındaki rolünü ortaya koymak ve mekânsal etkisini açıklamaktır. Yapılan alansal inceleme ile çalışmada ortaya konan kavramsallaştırmaların, büyük ölçekli kentlerde nasıl değerlendirileceğine dair ipuçları vermesi yönünden önem taşımaktadır. |
