Turizmin son teknolojik yapı pazarlardan biri haline gelmesiyle birlikte hem ekonomik, hem de sosyo-kültürel yapıda önemli değişimler görülmektedir. Bu değişime turizmin gelişmiş bir uluslar arası sosyo-kültürel özelliklere sahip olan yerel halk ve turistlerin etkileşimi sebeplerdir. Çünkü on iki farklı sosyal yapıya sahip olan kesim, turizmde bir araya gelip ve böylelikle birbirinden farklı olan yaşam tarzı onu iki kesime (turist ve yerel halk) cazip gelmektedir. Geleneksel sosyal ve kültürel yapı içerisinde yer alan aile kurumu, akrabalık ve komşuluk sektöründe, dil, alıcı-görenek, örf-adet de kurutulmuş farklılaşmaktadır. Çalışma, turizmin Cunda Adası'ndaki ekonomik etkisinin yanı sıra sosyal ve kültürel yapıya etkilerinin neler olduğunu düşünüyorsunuz , Cunda Adası'nda bulunan 22'si erkek ve 8'i kadın olmak üzere toplamda 30 yerli işletme sahibi ile görüşülerek gerçekleştirdi. Çalışmada amaçlı örneklem teknik. Elde edilmiş olan bulgular ile Cunda Adası'nda turizmin odaklı göstermesiyle birlikte ada yaşantısında önemli sosyo-kültürel değişimleri yaşandığı sonucuna ulaşıldı.
