Bu çalışmada, Türk yazın hayatına önemli katkılarda bulunmuş ve birçok edebi türde eser kaleme almış olan Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin, II. Meşrutiyet sonrasında Tercüman-ı Hakikat gazetesinde, Arap alfabesi ile yazılmış olan kırk yedi makalesinin Latin alfabesine çevirisi yapılmıştır. Çevirisi yapılan makaleler, içeriklerine göre belirlenen başlıklar altında tasnif edilmiş ve makaleleri için ayrı ayrı tanıtım ve değerlendirme yazısı kaleme alınmıştır. Bu çalışma, 22 Eylül 1908 - 13 Aralık 1908 tarihleri arasındaki makaleleri kapsamaktadır. Tanzimat Dönemi ile başlayan yenileşme hareketlerinin edebiyat alanındaki en önemli temsilcilerinden biri olan Ahmet Mithat Efendi, sadece bir yazar olarak değil; döneminin siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik durumunu iyi tahlil edebilmesi yönüyle de tarihimizin önemli münevverlerinden birisi olmuştur. Osmanlı gazeteciliğinin gelişmesine önemli katkılarda bulunmuş olmanın yanında, gazetelerde kaleme aldığı yazılarla halkın sosyoekonomik ve sosyokültürel durumu, dil, din, politika, devlet yönetimi, idarecilik ve askerlik gibi birçok alanda fikir beyan etmiştir. Sonuç olarak, Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin bu yazılarında, birçok konuya ve farklı disiplin alanına değinmesinin, bir öğretmen ve gazeteci yaklaşımıyla halkı eğitme ve bilgilendirme amaçlarını taşıdığı görülmektedir. Bunun yanında, Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin bu yazılarının, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kurucu kadrolarının gençlik dönemlerine denk gelmesi dolaysıyla, Cumhuriyetin ve inkılapların fikrî alt yapısına da katkıda bulunmuş olabileceği düşünülmektedir. Ahmet Mithat Efendi'nin gazete yazılarını dışarıda bırakarak onun hakkında genel bir tasvirde bulunmak, bu portrenin eksik kalmasına sebep olacaktır. In this study, forty seven articles of Ahmet Mithat Efendi, who made important contributions to the life of Turkish literature and wrote many literary genres, were translated into the Latin alphabet. These articles were, written in the Arabic alphabet in Tercüman-ı Hakikat newspaper after the Constitutional Monarchy II. The translated articles have been classified under the titles determined according to their contents and moreover a separate introduction and evaluation letter has been written for the articles. This study covers the articles between 22nd September 1908 – 13th December 1908. Ahmet Mithat Efendi, one of the most important representatives of the modernization movements that started with the Tanzimat Period, was not only a writer; but also one the most important character of our history with his good analysis of political, social and economic situation of the period. In addition to contributing significantly to the development of Ottoman journalism, he has written ideas in various fields such as socioeconomic and sociocultural status of the people, language, religion, politics, government, administration and military. As a result, we see that in these writings, Ahmet Mithat Efendi's addressing many subjects and different disciplines aims to educate and inform the public with a teacher and journalist approach. Besides, due to these articles of Ahmet Mithat Efendi, coincided with the youth period of the Turkish Republic founders, we think that those may have contributed to the intellectual infrastructure of the republic and reforms. Excluding Ahmet Mithat Efendi's newspaper articles and giving a general description of him, this portrait will remain incomplete.
