Kentleşme büyüklük ile ilgili avantajları nedeniyle son on yıllarda yoğunlaşan bir olgudur. Yirminci yüzyılda dünya nüfusunun sadece onda biri kentlerde yaşarken bu durum aynı yüzyıl biterken çok değişmiş, yeryüzündeki her üç kişiden birisi hayatını kentlerde sürdürmeye başlamıştır. Günümüzde geleceğe yönelik beklentiler doğrultusunda yapılan araştırmalar önümüzdeki yıllarda her iki kişiden birisinin kentlere yerleşmiş olacağını işaret etmektedir. İnsanların yaşadıkları hayatta ya da kentte kalite aramaları bir ayrıcalık değil haktır. Bütün insanlar kaliteli bir kent yaşamını hak ederler. Kentsel alanlarda yaşam kalitesinin belirlenmesini ve yükseltilmesini hedefleyen kentsel yaşam kalitesi kavramı ülkemizde de son dönemlerde oldukça gündemde olan bir konudur. Yeni yapılaşan alanlarda yaşam kalitesi standartlarına dikkat edilmeye çalışılsa da günümüze ulaşmayı başarabilmiş yaşam kalitesinin niteliğinin arzu edilen standartları taşımadığı söylenebilir. Bu alanda Konya kent bölgesinde her geçen gün artan yapılaşma ve yaşam alanlarında meydana gelen değişim, yaşam kalitesi açısından incelenmesi gereken bir konu haline getirmektedir. Urbanization is a phenomenon that has intensified in recent decades due to its size-related advantages. At the beginning of the twentieth century, only a tenth of the world's population was living in cities, but this situation changed a lot as the end of the same century, one of every three people on earth began to live in cities. Today's researches in the direction of expectations towards the future indicate that in the coming years one of each person will be settled in the cities. The quality of life in which people live or in cities is not a privilege. All people deserve a quality urban life. The concept of urban living quality, which aims to determine and raise the quality of life in urban areas, is a topic that has recently been on the agenda in our country. Although it is tried to pay attention to the quality of life standards in the recent constructed areas, it can be said that the qualities of the living quality do not carry the desired standards in the traditional tissues that have succeeded in reaching the daily life. This area has become increasingly important in the Konya urban area, and the change that has taken place in the living spaces has become a necessary subject to be examined in terms of qualit of life.
