Bu tez çalışmasında, karakteristiği 2 veya 3 olan sonlu cisimler üzerinde tanımlı ikinci, üçüncü ve dördüncü dereceden polinomların köklerinin hangi koşullar altında var olduğunu, eğer varsa ve mümkünse bu köklerin nasıl bulunabileceğini anlatacağız. Bunu yapabilmek için ilk olarak önemli bir cebirsel yapı olan cisimler özellikle de sonlu cisimler kavramını tanıtacağız. Sonrasında, karakteristiği 2 olan sonlu bir cisim üzerinde tanımlı ikinci dereceden polinomların köklerinin hangi koşullar altında var olup olmadığını iz (trace) dönüşümünden faydalanarak elde edeceğiz. Son olarak, karakteristiği 2 olan sonlu cisimler üzerinde tanımlı ikinci dereceden polinomların köklerinin varlığının tespitinde kullandığımız fikrin, karakteristiği 2 veya 3 olan sonlu cisimler üzerinde tanımlı üçüncü ve dördüncü dereceden polinomlara nasıl uygulandığını göstereceğiz. |

In this thesis, we explain under what conditions roots of the second, third and fourth order polynomials defined over finite fields of characteristic 2 or 3 exist, and how these roots can be found if they exist and possible. In order to do this, we first introduce the concept of fields, in particular finite fields, which are an important algebraic structure. In this case, we obtain under what conditions whether the solutions of quadratic equations defined over finite fields of characteristic 2 exist by incorporating the trace transformation. Finally, we show that how the idea that we use in the determination of the existence of roots of quadratic polynomials defined over finite fields of characteristic 2 is applied to the third and fourth order polynomials defined over finite fields of characteristic 2 or 3. |
