Aim:The aim of this study was to compare the success of digital imaging andpainting methods used in iris staining of ocular prostheses.Materials and Methods: Twoocular prostheses of one with staining and the other with digital imaging techniqueswere fabricated for 36 patients who lost their eyeball and applied to EgeUniversity Faculty of Dentistry for various reasons. Adobe Photoshop computersoftware program was used to compare painting and digital imaging methods.Results:Data were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance, multiple comparisons weremade with t-test. The iris color difference between the healthy eye and thedigital technique iris and the difference between healthy eye and paintingtechnique iris was found statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Although the ∆E value of the digital method is less than the painting method,the painting method is within acceptable limits. The incremental application ofthe paints better mimics the optical properties of the iris, giving a morenatural and deep appearance. |

Amaç:Bu çalışmada oküler protezlerin iris renklendirilmesinde kullanılan dijitalgörüntüleme ve boyama yöntemlerinin başarısının karşılaştırılmasıamaçlanmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: EgeÜniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’ne çeşitli nedenlerle başvuran gözküresini kaybetmiş 36 olguya iris renklendirilmesinde klasik boyama yöntemi vedijital görüntüleme yöntemi kullanılarak iki adet oküler protez yapıldı. Boyamave dijital görüntüleme yöntemlerini karşılaştırmak için Adobe Photoshopbilgisayar yazılım programı kullanıldı.Bulgular: Tümveriler tek yönlü varyans analizi, ikili karşılaştırmalar t-testiyleyapılmıştır. Sağlıklı göz irisi ile dijital görüntüleme yöntemi ile hazırlananiris arasındaki renk farkı ile sağlıklı göz irisi ile boyama yöntemi ilehazırlanan iris arasındaki renk farkı t- testi ile istatistiksel olarak analizedildiğinde fark anlamlı bulunmuştur (P<0.05).Sonuç:Dijital yöntemin ΔE değeri boyama yöntemine göre az olmasına rağmen, boyamayöntemi de kabul edilebilir sınırlar içindedir. Boyaların kat kat uygulanmasıirisin optik özelliklerini daha iyi taklit etmekte, daha doğal ve derin birgörünüm vermektedir. |
