Bilginin doğruluğu ancak ondan şüphe edilmeye başlanınca kanıtlanmaya çalışılacaktır. Bu yüzden bilginin doğruluğunu ortaya koymak için kişiyi araştırmaya iten şey şüphedir. Şüphe, kişinin iddiasının doğruluğuna dair kanıtlar geliştirmesine vesile olmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı; Sextus Empiricus ve Rene Descartes'ın şüphe ve bilginin doğruluğu hakkındaki görüşlerini ortaya koymaktır. Her iki filozofun doğru bilgiye yaklaşımlarının farklılığı ve epistemolojilerinde "şüphe" kavramını kullanmalarındaki farklılık felsefelerinin ana karakterini oluşturmaktadır. Bu nedenle her iki filozofa göre doğru bilginin imkanı ve kesinliği konusu "şüphe" kavramı etrafında ele alınarak bu çalışma hazırlanmıştır. Doubt is an important force in reaching the right knowledge. The accuracy of the knowledge will only be tried to be proved when it is doubted. Therefore, it is doubt that what drives one to investigate in order to establish the accuracy of the right knowledge. Doubt causes a person to prove his claim and to develop evidence. The aim of the study is to present the views of Sextus Empiricus and René Descartes about the accuracy of the doubt and knowledge. The difference between the approaches of both philosophers to right knowledge and their usage in the epistemology by giving different meanings to the concept of "doubt" constitutes the main character of their philosophy. Therefore, according to both philosophers, this study is prepared by considering the question of quality of correct knowledge, possibility and certainity of the right knowledge around the concept of "doubt".
