<p>Melissa officinalis L. (oğulotu) Doğu Akdeniz ve Batı Asya’da doğal olarak yetişen tıbbi ve aromatik bir bitkidir. Çeşitli hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanım gerekçesi yapraklarında bulunan glandular tüylerde üretilip depolanan fitokimyasallardır (monoterpen, sesquiterpen, triterpenleri içeren terpenler ile fenolik asit, flavonoid, taninleri içeren fenolik bileşikler). Özellikle fenolik bileşikler bu bitkinin tıbbi özelliğini kuvvetlendirici nitelik kazandırır. Son dönemlerde yapraklarından elde edilen ektrat ile özellikle bilgiyi öğrenme, depolama veya geri getirmeyi kuvvetlendirme etkisi olduğundan hafıza ile ilgili önemli gelişmeler kaydedilmiş ve Alzheimer hastalığının tedavisinde oldukça önemli yer tutacağı öngörülmüştür. Gerek ruhsal gerekse bedensel hastalıkların tedavisinde önemli sonuçlar veren bu bitkinin yetişme şartları, geleneksel kullanımı, fitokimyasal ve farmokolojik özellikleri hakkında özet vermeyi amaçlayan derlemede, bu bitki ile ilgili araştırmanın gerekçeleri ve gelecekteki araştırma alanları tartışılmıştır. <br /> </p> |

<p>Melissa officinalis L. is a medicinal and aromatic plant grown naturally in the Eastern Mediterranean and West Asia. The rationale for use in the treatment of various diseases are phytochemicals (monoterpene, sesquiterpene, terpenes containing triterpenes, phenolic acid, flavonoids, tannins and phenolic compounds) produced in glandular hairs. Phenolic compounds, in particular, enhance the medicinal properties of this plant. Due to the effect of strengthening the learning, storage or recovery of the information, especially with the extracts obtained from the leaves, significant improvements in memory have been recorded and a significant placeholder in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease has been predicted. In this review, which aims to give an overview of the growing conditions, traditional use, phytochemical and pharmacological properties of this plant, which gives important results in the treatment of both psychological and physical diseases, the reasons for this research and its research areas are discussed. <br /> </p> |
