dc.description Background. Intraoperative lavage with normal saline or taurolidine solutions is commonly used in abdominal surgery. For this purpose, normal saline and taurolidine, which may modify the intrinsic fibrinolytic activity of the peritoneum by breaking the peritoneal adhesions, are frequently used. We aimed to evaluate how normal saline and taurolidine affect peritoneal fibrinolysis and adhesion formation.
