dc.description Concentrations of heavy metals (Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cr and Pb) were measured in muscle, liver and gill of two fish species (Leuciscus cephalus and Stizostedion lucioperca) from the Beysehir Lake. Also, the relationships between fish lengths and metal concentrations in the tissues were investigated by linear regression analysis. Fe, Zn and Mn were detected in different fish sample tissues, while Cu, Cr and Pb were undetectable in all fish samples (<0.03 mg L-1). Mn was also below this limit of detection in the muscle of L. cephalus, and muscle and liver of S. lucioperca. In general. the lowest levels of all these metals were found in muscle tissues, and their mean concentrations under the permissible limits proposed by FAO.
