dc.description Calcific tendinitis is characterized by deposition of calcium phosphate crystals in tendons of the shoulder. Shoulder calcific tendinitis is most frequently seen at supraspinatus tendon. Subscapularis tendon is a very rare site for calcific deposition. We present a case of very large resistant calcific tendinitis of subscapularis tendon of left shoulder unresponsive to conservative treatment, causing coracoid impingement and subcoracoid stenosis; its excision with mini-open technique including tendon Z-plasty with two-year follow-up.
