dc.description <p><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Life of </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Socrates contains an important lesson about what it means to tell the truth. In this respect </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Gerald L. Bruns presents an important hermeneutic interpretation</span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">in his book </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Hermeneutics Ancient </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">and Modern</span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">. Bruns&rsquo; interpretation is unique with respect to both the roots of hermenutics in Ancient </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Greece and its evaluation of Socrates in a very different perspective. In this article first, the place </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">where Bruns locates Socrates is reviewed, then his hermeneuti</span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">c interpretation of Socrates&rsquo; </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">autobiography presented in </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">Apology</span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">is investigated. Accordingly understanding and expressing truth </span><span style="font-family:sans-serif; font-size:15px">is a process of action, movement, endeavor and, as a whole, disclosure.</span></p>
