dc.description The effect of barite (BaSO4) aggregate rate on the physical and mechanical properties such as the ultrasound pulse velocity (UV), Schmidt hardness (SH) and unit weight (UW) of heavyweight concrete have been measured and variation of these properties with the barite rate in concrete have also been investigated. For this purposes five different types of concrete where barite aggregate used in the rate of 0%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 100%, have been produced. This would lead to obtain ideal barite aggregate ratio and cement dosage in concrete. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
