In this paper, the correlation between the yam hairiness results of the Uster Tester 4 and Zweigle G 566 testers are determined to evaluate any linear relation between them. Therefore, it was aimed to estimate the hairiness level of the same yam at other hairiness instruments by looking the hairiness value obtained from any hairiness instrument. For this aim, the correlations between the Zweigle (S3) and UT4 index (HU) as well as Zweigle hairiness index (HZ) and UT4 hairiness index (HU) parameters are calculated. Results show that there is no linear relation between the hairiness results of Zweigle G566 and UT4 for combed ring yams while there is a good correlation for OE-rotor spun yams. |
