Determining the best strategy in developing tourism potential of cities has a fundamental importance. Main aim of this study is to identify the best strategy for Burdur province using SWOT-AHP combined approach. For this purpose, we determine the key criteria and the subcriteria by using previously made SWOT analysis. In accordance with these criteria, four alternative strategies have been developed. By transforming the SWOT matrix to a hierarchical structure, Analytical Hierarchy approach has been established and analysed in next stage. According to our results, the best strategy for Burdur province is to protect the natural environment. Second best strategy is to utilize alternative tourism opportunities. |
