dc.description The Murgul deposit in the East Pontic metallotect is assigned to a subvolcanic formation related to an Upper Cretaceous island arc temporally developed under subaerial conditions, whereas the deposits at Madenkoy and Lahanos, in the western part, are genetically associated with a submarine hydrothermal activity. There is a Cu-Mo belt in the northern part of the Anatolian microplate. The Cu deposit of Murgul can be interpreted as a transition from Kuroko-type volcanogenic massive sulfides (VMS) to porphyry copper deposits and might be viewed as a new ore deposit model (Murgul type).
