Sürdürülebilir kentler herkes için eşit olanak ve imkân sağlayan, yüksek yaşam kalitesi sunan, iyi planlanmış, çevreye duyarlı, sağlıklı ve yaşanabilir ortamlardır. Kentlerde yaşanan çevre sorunlarının önüne geçebilmek, doğal kaynakların devamlılığı ve ekosistemin korunmasını sağlanmak amacıyla sürdürülebilir kentlerin önemi günden güne artmaktadır. Sürdürülebilir kentler için açık yeşil alanlar ise ekolojik sürecin sağlıklı ilerlemesinde ve ekosistemin desteklenmesinde büyük role sahiptir. Bu çalışma, sürdürülebilir kentler için kent parklarının önemini ele almaktadır. Bu amaçla kent parkları özelinde ekosistem hizmetleri; Ankara'nın Etimesgut ilçesinde bulunan Göksu Parkı örneğinde incelenmiş, kullanıcı memnuniyetinin tespiti için anket çalışması yapılmış ve parkın genel planlama ve tasarım özelliklerinin yeterliliği Peyzaj Mimarlığı disiplini kapsamında irdelenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel ve nicel veri toplama araçları birlikte kullanılmış, arazi gözlemi ve anket çalışmasına başvurulmuştur. Anket çalışması semt sakinlerinden oluşan 400 kişiye yapılmış, elde edilen veriler SPSS programı kullanılarak ki kare testi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Ankara Göksu parkında sürdürülebilirlik yönünden yeterli planlama ve tasarımlara yer verilmediği, parkın ekosistem hizmetleri anlamında kente yeterli katkıyı sağlayamadığı görülmüştür. Çevreye olan olumsuz etkileri en aza indirgemek, maksimum fayda sağlamak için kent parklarında hangi hizmetlere yer verilmesi gerektiği ve sistemin sürdürülebilir bir şekilde yönetilebilmesi için hangi yaklaşımların benimseneceğine karar verirken parkın planlanma sürecinde ekolojik süreçlerin gözönünde bulundurulması oldukça önemlidir. Bu bağlamda sürdürülebilir kentler için açık yeşil alanların üstlendiği ekolojik, ekonomik ve sosyal katkılar değerlendirilmeli ve sürekliliğin sağlanması için buna yönelik çalışmalar yapılmalıdır. Sustainable cities are well-planned, environmentally friendly, healthy and livable environments that provide equal opportunities and opportunities for everyone, offer high quality of life. The importance of sustainable cities is increasing day by day in order to prevent environmental problems in cities, to ensure the continuity of natural resources and the protection of the ecosystem. This study examines the importance of urban parks for sustainable cities. For this purpose, ecosystem services specific to city parks; It was examined in the example of Göksu Park in Etimesgut district of Ankara, a survey was conducted to determine the user satisfaction and the adequacy of the general planning and design features of the park was examined within the scope of the Landscape Architecture discipline. In the research, qualitative and quantitative data collection tools were used together, field observation and questionnaire study was applied. The survey was carried out to 400 people consisting of the residents of the district and the data obtained were analyzed with the help of the chi-square test using the SPSS program. As a result of the research, it was seen that Ankara Göksu park did not include adequate planning and designs in terms of sustainability, and the park could not provide sufficient contribution to the city in terms of ecosystem services. It is very important to consider ecological processes in the planning process of the park while deciding which services should be included in the city parks in order to minimize the negative effects on the environment, to provide maximum benefit, and which approaches to adopt in order to manage the system in a sustainable manner. In this context, ecological, economic and social contributions undertaken by open green spaces for sustainable cities should be evaluated and studies should be carried out to ensure sustainability.
