dc.description Synthesis of new disazo indole dyes (3a-3m) was carried out by diazotization of 5-amino-4-arylazo-3-methyl-1H-pyrazoles (2a-2m) and coupling with 2-phenyl indole. The newly synthesized 12 disperse disazo dyes were characterized by UV-vis, FT-IR, H-1 NMR and elemental analysis. Their solvatochromic properties indifferent solvents were investigated. In addition, theoretical calculations are performed for the disazo dyes. The molecular structures of all synthesized dyes 3a-3m have been optimized to the global minima at the levels of using HF and DFT methods with 6-31G(d), 6-311G(d), 6-311++G(d,p), and 6-31++G(d,p) basis sets.
